Samsung One UI 6 update eligible devices

Samsung has already started planning for its upcoming One UI 6 update for its devices. Many Galaxy devices will receive the One UI 6 update till the end of year.

One UI 6.0 will be based on Android 14 and it will bring major improvements and noticeable changes in the User Interface of Galaxy devices.

Samsung Update policy

Samsung has a great policy on its Galaxy device firmware security and OS upgrade. On 10 Feb 2022, Samsung publicly announced that Select Galaxy users can enjoy the four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades.

Samsung Galaxy S series, Z series, A series smartphones and tablet released after Feb 2022 will definitely receive the One UI 6 update this year. Samsung S23 series devices will receive One UI 6 update followed by One UI 7 and One UI 8.

Previously Samsung devices were only receiving 2 Android OS upgrades but now they have made some changes in their policy.

This is really great news for Samsung users that Samsung Select devices will receive 4 Android OS upgrades and up to 5 years of Security patches after the launch date of the smartphone.

Beta testing Samsung devices

Google pixel uses and some smartphone users from other brands can enroll for beta testing of Android 14. But unfortunately, Samsung users can’t enroll for Android 14 beta testing till June 2023 but very soon Samsung will start working on it.

As you can see, Samsung is not listed in the Android 14 beta partner program by Google yet.

You can probably start enrolling your Samsung device for beta testing of Android 14 in Jul 2023. Samsung eligible devices may start receiving One UI 6 stable update in Sep 2023.

One UI 6 eligible devices

Google has already started working on Android 14 in Feb 2023 with the Android 14 preview program for developers only. According to Google planning on Android 14, they will release Beta 3 in June 2023. Google is expecting Android 14 to reach Platform Stability at Beta 3 in June 2023.

Samsung has not provided any details related to its One UI 6 Update roadmap and the development but they have already started working on it in their labs.

Samsung One UI 6 update list

Here you can find the list of all Samsung One UI 6 eligible devices. As we have already informed that Samsung has not yet officially released any list of One UI 6 eligible devices.

But in Feb 2022 they have confirmed that it selects devices from A-Series, S-series, Z-series and tablets released after Feb 2022 will receive four major Android upgrades and security patches.

Samsung One UI 6 release date

One UI 6 stable update release date will depend on the Android 14 stable release date by Google. As Google has not yet made it clear when their Pixel devices will start receiving Android 14 stable update.

Google Pixel devices including Pixel 4 and higher models have already started receiving Android 14 beta3 updates on enrollment basis. Some other smartphone brands have already participated in Android 14 development plan for their premium smartphones.

One UI 6 Beta program

Very soon Samsung will open a beta testing program for volunteer users having premium Galaxy devices with them. We may expect Samsung to make the One UI 6 Beta testing available publicly in July 2023.

Few other smartphone brands have already provided privilege to their premium smartphone users to enroll their device for Android 14 beta testing.

Samsung One UI 6 is based on Android 14 by Google and Android 14 itself is in Beta phase. According to a previously released Android 13 update, Google started its beta1 testing in Apr 2022 and released stable version in Sep 2022.

Android 13 beta1 to stable development phase took almost 6 months but this time Google itself is expecting that Android 14 development may take longer than 6 months and it may go up to Sep 2023.

One UI 6 stable update release date

As soon as Google releases the stable version on Android 14, Samsung will follow it and immediately release its stable version within one month.

Samsung One UI 6 eligible devices may get One UI 6.0 stable update in Sep 2023. It looks very hard for One UI 6.0 stable version to be launched before Sep 2023.

Samsung security updates

If your Samsung is already upgraded to One UI 5 from the previous version then you may try to keep your phone with the latest security updates.

Because there is so much time left for Samsung One UI 6 stable version update to reach all of its users. As it is expected that Samsung eligible devices will start receiving One UI 6 update after Oct 2023 only. Some Samsung devices, especially mid-range phones, will get One UI 6 update in the first quarter of 2024.

Samsung devices launched after 2019 are already receiving firmware security updates for a minimum of four years. Some devices are also eligible to get Security patch updates for up to 5 years.
